“If you are lucky enough to have lived in Paris as a young man, then wherever you go for the rest of your life, it stays with you, for Paris is a moveable feast,” —Ernest Hemingway in A Moveable Feast

Hello there, fellow seeker!

I’m Meg, a freelance travel writer and solopreneur by day, and aspiring second-time novelist by night (and early morning!) I live in Jersey City, NJ, with my wonderful fiancé and when I’m not writing or reading, I can usually be found on the hunt for a good strong cold brew iced coffee.

I got the idea for my blog, A Moveable Feed, about eight years ago while working on my first novel and freelance writing. I’d lived in Paris during and right after college, and have always been fascinated by the Lost Generation of writers in the 1920s and the novel A Moveable Feast. As tends to happen a lot in the writing world…I procrastinated as life took over. But, better late than never, and here I am!

Inspired by the great writer-expats in history who took time to sit down with and get to know locals living in the destinations and have real conversations over great meals, coffee and drinks, the essence of the site will be slow travel for our fast-paced world.

I’ll be highlighting my latest discoveries in the most popular destinations, all geared toward travelers in their 20s, 30s, 40s who want the best food, hotel and experiences on a real-person (i.e. writer’s) budget. And I’ll be creating “best of” lists to inspire you before you go, visual guides that are easy to save, pin and screenshot while you’re there and personal essays for when you’re back. I might even be trying some video, too.

I hope this blog gives you useful info and inspires you to dive deeper into the destinations you find yourself in and really get to know the people living and working there, because that’s really what makes a place meaningful.

I do accept press trips, however, I choose only the places I feel I could realistically recommend to my friends keeping price and accessibility in mind, and never write about places if I’ve had a bad experience.

I look forward to hearing from you and would love to partner with anyone hoping to expand their audience in the travel space (just email me at meghannfoye@gmail.com)!

Thanks for reading!

Meg
